Our automated monitoring system collects weather data every 3 hours from weather stations near Lake Kawaguchiko, the primary viewpoint for Mt. Fuji. Each reading includes cloud cover at three altitude levels, atmospheric visibility distance, temperature, humidity, precipitation probability, and wind conditions.
The visibility score (0–100) is calculated using a weighted algorithm that considers atmospheric visibility distance (40%), mid-level cloud cover at summit altitude (30%), precipitation probability (20%), and humidity (10%). Mid-level clouds (3,000–8,000m) are weighted most heavily because they directly obscure Mt. Fuji’s 3,776m summit.
This page updates every hour with the latest aggregate statistics. All times are shown in Japan Standard Time (JST, UTC+9).
